Remember the controversy over iOS features being introduced to OS X in 10.7? It was a pretty big deal at the time, with many Mac users fearing that OS X was being dumbed down and predicting that within a couple of years the Mac would have touch screens and OS X would be re-branded "iOS Desktop".

Well 5 years on and this controversy over "walled gardens" has been mostly forgotten and overall the Mac hasn't changed that much.

    Or has it?

iOS-esque features are obviously still being introduced to the Mac, but have they made a big difference to you, either positive or negative?

Having better syncronisation between devices, desktop to mobile is obviously a big plus. I always agreed with SJ when he said the touch screen was not as comfortable or practical to use on a laptop. The hybrids never appealed to me.

I like macOS where it is now, the laptops have gotten better each year without feeling like it's loosing it's more powerful features or becoming an iOS device. I like the Apple approach of having two distinct operating systems based on what device you're using.
