    Hi Guys,
So I have a s6 which wont connect to the internet on my home wifi.
Every other device work's that is until I brought home a new smart ultra 7 for the missus and the same problem with that.
The 2 devices are on marshmallow so I am putting it down to this.
The only way I can get them to work is by using a vpn app from the playstore i'e dnset or dns changer.
    Things I have tried:
    Reset router to defaults
    Set static ip on phones.
    Change dns servers to google,opendns.
    Forget networks
    Reset network settings on phone
I really am at my wits end here and am at a loss as to why the dns apps fix it???
    I have a tp link wd8970 router.
    ANy ideas would be great
    Thanks a mill

Are the other devices that work running android also?

I know android had an issue in the past if the WiFi channel being used was greater than 11 iirc.

    OK on mobile data.
They are getting ip addresses and connecting to the wifi fine and I can access files on my pc with them.

in wifi settings, go to advanced & set the region code to europe.
it probably won't help but it's worth a try

phone. i remember doing that for some reason on mine, but i don't know if that was just messing about or to fix something.

though from a quick google it looks like a bug in 6.0.1
