    Hi all im buying a car that hasnt had tax for months i presume ill be only paying for tax from when i take ownership no back tax is there?

    Yes, it will be from when you take ownership., you wont pay arrears.

    You only pay for when the car comes in to your ownership, if you bought it today you would be liable for all October.
