UK history check recommendations

Im looking at a 2010 Uk car, its registered here since 2013, however it was imported before it got an MOT so i cant cross check the UK mileage. Is there anything i can do to look into the Uk history to give me mileage verification from before it left the UK?

Ring the garages that stamped the service book. Run a motorcheck report on the Irish number plate and/or run a UK HPI check on the old UK number plate

Slightly off thread but im looking at buying a uk import. Can i check its uk history with its irish reg? Or do i need the uk reg? Also which website is best / cheapest for uk history's?
