I'm a long time on Boards but have only noticed the some of my older posts have no "Edit" button, especially on threads I've started.

    Example:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057659559

Has this always been the case? or is it something new?

    Hi Gadgetman,

You can only edit posts that are less than 48 hours old. This has been the case for as long as I can remember. If there's something specific that you want edited, you could ask a mod, but it's up to them at that point.

Right, I'm surprised I never noticed that before, but there ya go!

Nothing I need that's of importance, was just wondering if it was always the case.

What is the logic behind that?

Some users may have been abusing a wider window to edit their posts, which causes a knock on effect as later posts are meaningless or completely out of context.

I just made a post 10 minutes ago, and I can't see the edit button. Where is it gone ???

( Wonder will I see it for this post? )

On desktop you will see three dots at the top right of your post and on mobile it is a cog in the same position. Click on whichever one and the 'Edit' button will appear including how much longer you have to edit the post. Once the 24 hours are up that will no longer appear.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
