    Hi guys

Been interested in outdoor pursuits and have done a bit in college but now would like to start doing more. Would any of ye know any groups in the Louth/Meath/North Dublin areas what would go out regularly. Don't have any of the gear but would look at getting some if there was a group I could join up with.

Hi Siobhan, I love hiking and climbing mountains and I live in the Louth area, I am not a member of a hiking club but i do a lot of hiking and hiking challenges around the country. There is hiking club in Drogheda called the tredagh walk club and a hiking club in navan, they hike mainly in the Cooley or mourne MTS, there is also a few clubs in Dublin or Wicklow the wayfarers are good and Irish ramblers hillwalking club too. Hillwalking is great for fitness head space and see how beautiful nature is. You can sometimes get hiking gear in lidl or aldi which is cheap but good. Heaton's is good for hiking boots or trail runners. Anyway if there is any questions I can help you with I will . best of luck

Hi Siobhan, the Navan - Drogheda walking club is very good and well organised. Navan walks are alternate Sundays to the Drogheda walks so you have a "B" or "C" grade walk every weekend, B being the longer more strenuous walk. Membership runs from December to November and is currently €40. Highly recommend it.
