Rattle after changing shocks and coils

    Hi all,

NCT last week and failed on shock imbalance. Got new shocks and coils fitted today. On driving home, there is a rattling/clunking sound from rear passanger side (almost like something rolling about the boot, but have checked that) when going over uneven ground - nothing on smoother roads. (N7)

Cant "feel" anything wrong with the car handling wise / driving wise.

Has anyone any experience of this? I dont think there is a bedding in period with these parts so I'm guessing something is not quite right. Conveniently my mechanic is off to Florida for 2 weeks tomorrow and NCT retest booked for Friday so I'm in a quandry about what to do.

Insignia, 2.0l, 220BHP version if it makes any difference.

    Thanks for any advice!

Ring the mechanic and tell him you want it sorted tonight, if he made a mistake he is obliged to fix it before he leaves or have it sorted in his absence, and he will if he is any good.(this is assuming it was rear shocks you had changed)

He has just gotten back to me to say he will have a look tomorrow before he goes. In fairness, he's very good so I'm not too worried.

    Any suggestions on the cause?

How secure is the exhaust pipe?

    Rubber missing of spring seat.

As above exhaust, mount loose or missing its rubber.

    My 2 guesses.
