Cost of high tech perscription.

    Is it possible to find out the true cost of my high tech prescription. I have a medical card so I get my tablets free of charge but im curious to see what price the HSE pays for my drugs. I looked for a website giving the prices but couldn't find one.

    I think the prescription claim form just has the cost to the patient printed on it, so would be €2.50 (or possibly 0) for medical card patients or €144 for DPS patients. I don't think high tech items are included on the HSE PCRS list of covered items website. Best bet may be to ask your pharmacist what the overall cost is.

    You could ask your pharmacy for the list price of the High Tech drug. This will be the nearest that you will get to a price because the HSE receives a rebate from the manufacturers for each High Tech medicine.
