New battery won't stop charging when full

I recently go a replacement battery for my galaxy s5
When I put it on charge it will continue to try charging indefinably. It gets very hot and the indicator led never goes green.
I got the battery from amazon and the item has excellent feedback. I did contact the seller and they sent me another battery right away, however I have the same problem with the replacement. My original battery still charges as normal.

Before I contact the seller again does anyone have any insight into what may be happening?

It's most likely a fake.

Yes, after further reading up on this I'd say your right. Very convincing fake, if the charge had worked I never would have known the difference.
