If I don't pay a bill within 12 months, does the late payment penalty currently apply? Or has the penalty been suspended?

Hi mambo,

Thanks for contacting us.

We can confirm that all bills up to 31st of March 2016 should be paid. There are no plans to apply penalty charges during the suspension period. The Water Services (Amendment) Bill 2016 provides that Irish Water shall not include the period of suspension of domestic water charges in calculating the time period of unpaid water charges, for which a late payment charge applies.
