Changing a TRV without draining down.

    Has anyone ever got a trv replaced without draining down the system and if so who did it for you.

    I mean the whole valve, not just the top half.

    I just need the one replacing.

    never done it, but a mate used one of the freeze kits to freeze the pipes and drain just the rad. pull of the valve and replace....

    honestly think it is easier to drain the system

    If your pipework to the rads qualpex you can get a pipe clamp as an alternative to freezing.
