Training course before leaving job

I'm working in the UK for a few months and still in training. Work are sending me on an essential training course for the job. Its quite expensive, but they are paying for it.

The problem is that I am thinking of returning to Ireland. There is an opportunity that may be open in December. I won't find out until a couple of weeks after the course.

I feel bad for potentially doing the course and leaving soon after. They do not have a repay Claude if you leave. Then again I don't want to tell them to cancel the course and ending up not getting the job in Ireland.

What do you think I should do, keep my mouth shut or suggest deferring the course?

    You answered your own question.

If the other opportunity doesn't open up, but you have told them, then you career there is screwed.

Head down, work hard and make the best of what you have. If something else opens up, great - decide about it when that happens, not beforehand.
