Footpaths in Kilcock

I've just moved to Kilcock. Am I just imagining it or are the footpaths in way worse condition that the other North Kildare towns (Celbridge, Maynooth, Leixlip)? I was out for a walk/jog this evening for the first time and spent a huge amount of it looking at my feet to avoid injuries
