Are we allowed to spread P and K this time of year. If so what are your opinions on it.

I think it's only K allowed now. 50% K is muriate of potash. If you spread it on grass you'd need to go in with magnesium for grass tetany.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

A little and often through the spring and summer will get you the best results for your money

I was hoping to put some Pand K on silage ground.Would it be OK to do it this time of year. Murate of Potash and 16% P.

Can't spread p after September 15th. Can spread k. Anyone get sulfate of potash? Be better than muriate but not widely available afaik. If the ground got no slurry it may benefit. Get the p and k out early in the new year be the safest bet and again when fertilising for silage and after its cut

Some of the land is a bit on the wet side but it is dry now so should I go with the K now as I have the chance of a dry spell. And the time.

K is water soluble, better to wait.

Isn't all chemical fertiliser water soluble so as to make its way down to the roots.Would it all not "wash away" anyhow in very wet conditions. I only want to bring the index level up a bit. Would it not remain in the soil like the rest of the K already in the soil.

K leaches faster than P. How much are you thinking of putting out? There's not going to be a lot of growth between now and 15th of January.

One and a half bags acre.I was hoping the soil would fix it as it were and stay in the soil. With the weather being so mild. What do people with winter wheat do.

Put it on in Feb when the tramlines are dry enough to travel.
