Needs some help here to value a car that i am about to purchase for my wife, I am happy with it and just need to figure out a fair price to offer seller (private).

2008 VW Tiguan in Black 2.0 TDI 4WD automatic with 120K miles on it, its a former UK car with high spec and leather but no sat nav (was replaced).
Timing belt is not done on it.

Seller is thinking 12k for it, is that about the ballpark figure ?

    Thanks for any input !

this is what it's up against.

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/volkswagen-tiguan-2-0-tdi-automatic-4x4-low-tax/13361923

Less than half the mileage, and has a warranty.

    I think it's around €10750.
4wd isn't much of a selling point on something like that. Tax is relatively high on that model too. Father in law has a manual 2wd, think the tax is €180

Did you do any history check on it to see what came up?

Yes, i suppose with the mileage the 4wd/auto could be a up for repairs.

Tax is 1200e on it, guess with the auto/4WD adds it up, nice find on that link.

Point is, there are Irish spec ones out there in 4wd auto that were registered in the first half of 08 on the old system that have €710 tax.

€1200 tax just knocked it back further. 8k I'd say.
