UK Car Sellers using weak sterling to their advantage?

Hi, I was browsing AutoTrader UK today and came across this 2005 530d:

    http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201610208953375

What caught my attention was this:
    "VRT 2024 EURO"

So the ad is definitely targeted at Irish buyers.

So then I've decided to filter ads with the keyword "VRT".
    Search returned 200 results.

Then I've decided to filter ads with the keyword "Ireland".
Search returned 900 results, about a third of those mentions Ireland for export.

I've never seen this on AT before, so I'm quite surprised used car dealerships are doing this.

Do you think that now with weak Sterling, UK sellers are more keen to sell cars to the Republic?

That dealer is in Eniskillen, plenty of them up there target ROI buyers.

Of 470,000 cars on Autotrader, 900 is nothing, and are most likely based in NI

That car doesn't look great, look at the panel gaps around the bumpers! Also, it's got the wrong exhaust tips for a 530d, all six cylinder E60s (bar the 535d) have trapezoidal shaped exhuast tips, only the 535d upwards have round ones like that car has.

It's a SE fitted with M Sport bumpers that are most likely aftermarket.

Want to be off your rocker to spend over 2k on VRT for an 11 year old beemer. Importing that wouldn't make any sense to me

Agree and add in 1500 for motor tax as well.

Absolutely, if you go to 2008 and get an LCI E60 you can have a six cylinder model (petrol or diesel) for €750 motor tax, even the 535d is in that category. If you want your 525d and 530d with a manaul gearbox, that drops to €570.
