Hi all , i may have been a bit late separating ewe lambs from ram lambs and then some rams lambs broke in again for a day or so last month, can anyone tell me what the story is if these go to the factory and turn out in lamb ??. Thanks in advance.

    I don't think you'll have any problems
    1. The lambs are unlikely to be in heat just yet unless they are very strong and well fed in which case they'll be heading to the factory before they are too long in lamb anyway.

    2. I stand to be corrected but I have never heard of in lamb ewe lambs in the factory being a problem in terms of price cuts.

I've often wondered this, whens the best time to separate the ewe lambs from the ram lambs? As soon as possible or after a few weeks?

Seperate by August for a midseason flock. It's more to stop the boys keeping their weight down running around after the girls though than in case they put any ewe lambs in lamb.
