Chadwicks were advertising 10 bales for 40 today. I am trying to figure out is that a good deal or not. Most places i have seen are looking 5 for a single bale

Woodies and the garages normally have them for €25 for 6, works out €1.66 cheaper per 10 pack with Chadwick's.

Aldi selling them at €4.15 a bale

    Woodies special is €25 for 6 - €4.16 a bale, one bale is €4.99, it's €4.99 a bale in Tesco too

So Chadwicks is cheapest at €4.00 per bale when you buy 10

If you know someone working in BNM, you can get 140 bales delivered for €416

BNM used to do a peat briquette that contained 30% (I think) renewable biomass, and the carbon tax on such briquettes has been reduced to zero in the recent budget, but I haven't seen them around anywhere.

Anyone know if they're still available?

B & Q does 5 bales for €20. It's the same price but you don't have to buy 10 straight away

Is this not best moved to the 'request' thread. OP is only asking a question. Maybe a mod can move.

Those cosy king ones are dreadful. They burn far too quickly. My local Spar did them for a while and never got them back cos everyone hated them.

Is that not 128 bales? There's 128 per pallet.

I find them to be pretty good and have other people coming back for more of them too!

They do leave a lot of ash, but I figure all briquettes do.

Two bales for €8.50 in Tesco at the moment which is worthwhile if you've SuperValu spend & save vouchers that you're using in Tesco.
