My friend has a Dui in the morning I was trying to pm merdit but I can't.

She was caught stationary but drinking in her car and was booking a hotel on a well known website she also frequently stay in the hotel she was trying to book into she'd get a discount or definitely a room if they had one when she rings.
Keys in the ignition to give location to the taxi driver she was using her sat nav to guide the taxi.

So her dui is costing 3k solicitor and barrister.I'm not seeking legal advice.
She went to the local garda station handed in her licence full clean 20 year's never been stopped/charged for anything our local gaurd said maybe 80 euros and points and an endorsement(maybe )

It's the 3k does she need a barrister?
She was told maybe 3 court appearance solicitor will speak tomorrow then her then fight it out she's using my solicitor that I totally trust
Oh and also a 3-6 month driving ban could happen that's what the guard said when everything was handed in.also was arrested think it was 9mol she was held for 3 hours (no idea about the mol of alcohol).

Is 3k excessive for 20 year's driving never a fault only this.
Apparently the question is was she sober when she got to her whereabouts.
    But 3k?
    Any comment would be great.

    Seems to be ok
She had stayed in the hotel the night before and checked what you mentioned and it was booked out this happens a lot so normally she'd ring them and they would have a room vacant more so people booked and didn't turn up she was never let down by the hotel.

Did you say Garda said 80 fine and points? If the matter is going to court under a charge sheet or summons then your friend is facing a mandatory 1 year ban on conviction if the reading is higher then 2 or 3 years, if drugs or a refusal 4 years. I assume it's a DC case not an appeal and the fees mentioned are about the mark.
