Insurance Claim Under Spouse's Name

I lost a ring that was under our home insurance policy. The policy is in my husband's name. The valuation for the ring is in my name. I put in a claim but while the claim has been processing my husband and I are now separating. I received a call to say that they can offer to replace or settle for a sum. I chose the sum as the ring was given to me by my husband. They have asked me to get my husband to confirm by email as the policy was in his name only, even though we were both paying for it. He is now suggesting he takes half the settlement amount. Does he have any rights to any or all of the amount? Or is it mine because the valuation has my name only on it?

Any help and guidance is appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not sure about who is entitled to the proceeds, but I can confirm that claim payments under an insurance policy must be in the name of the policyholder unless the policyholder agrees otherwise
