    hi,
    i have a strange problem.
i am using upc broadband on the new white fancy router
    I have an amazon firestick.
on the fire stick, i changed the dns settings.
then i went back to check network settings on fire stick.
the dns is shown as 2001:730:3ec2::10
not sure what this is - google tells me something related to upc.
i guess its related to ipv6 format.
i am unable to change dns settings now on fire stick
what ever i put in, the same 2001:730:3ec2::10 is displayed.

anyone else with upc having same problem?

What address are you attempting to change the DNS to? You may need to use an IPv6 DNS server, or contact Virgin Media to revert to IPv4.

I'm having the same issue. I think it's because Virgin Media are doing DNS hijacking. From reading up on this (and limited networking knowledge), the only way around it is to bridge the VM Hub 3.0 router ("Modem Mode" setting) and use a different router to configure your DNS. I may be wrong, but I think this is what you need to do.

i contacted them and changed it to ipv4 now.
but still fire stick is not showing the dns i inputted.
smart dns guys said to reset my fire stick.
    i did that too.
    but no luck.
    i still have - 2001:730:3ec2::10 in firestick

checked on my macbook and it works fine. so not sure if they are doing hijacking

Can you check if ipv6 DHCP and ipv6 DNS are turned off on your router.

as per the upc rep, ipv6 is switched off.
on the upc white modem, i can see ipv6 in stateless auto configuration type

edit: on the modem page under wan ip settings, i can see ipv6 details.
    i thought ipv6 was disabled

not sure if i can turn it off myself as i dont see edit option
