Need help sharing connection from laptop to Xbox One

So I'm living in UCD accommodation at the moment and although the UCD wifi is very fast here, it blocks xbox live. I am able to access eduroam internet, however you need a username and password to log in which the xbox doesn't support. So I tried to share the connection from my laptop to the xbox.

I followed microsoft's instructions on their website to perfection, however it keeps either telling my that it can't find the IP, it can't connection to static IP, or it can't connect to DCHP or some ****. I followed the alternate method as well by manually inputting the IP info they give me but that didn't work either. I then finally tried bridging the connection but I don't know what I was doing when I tried that. I would link the website but I can't as a new user.

Everything on the laptop side seems to fine. I managed to get it working using a hotspot program however the internet completely tanks when I used that. If anyone could help in any way at all I would greatly appreciate it.
