Apologies in advance if this has been asked before. I am trying to log-in to my virgin media hub with direct cable connection. When I use 192.168.0.1 it wont connect. However when I check router settings the default gateway is listes as 46.7.*.*.* I try to connect through my browser with the gateway ip however that will not connnect either. Is there anyone that has experienced this? Is there another way to connect and log on to my router? Many thanks!

Try the full login URL: http: //192.168.0.1/common_page/login.html (remove the space after: ) I noticed that in some browsers the redirect does not work correctly.

Also how did you check the router settings if you can't log on? That IP you mention looks like your external IPV4 address.

Do you have your own router too and put the HUB into modem only mode? If so, the IP for the HUB will have changed to 192.168.100.1.

If you don't have your own router, have a look into your IP configuration on your pc/laptop and see what IP is listed as default gateway for the Ethernet adapter.

Otherwise, one thing that usually works with then HUB is rebooting it or resetting it to factory settings as last resort.
