Stuck in a rut

I am 22 years old and stuck in a bit of a rut.
Long story short, I used to suffer a lot with social anxiety and struggled to make friends. I started CBT and was put on medication for severe anxiety and Pure OD. The latter has been causing me big problems over the last few months but am trying to work through.

Atm I am at home in a small town and looking for work. I don’t feel strong enough to move to a big city as I am still working through my problems. There is nothing to do in my town and the nearest towns where you could socialise are about an hour away.
My main aim atm is to have good friends and I would love a girlfriend. I would be a big romantic and its not easy all the loved up couples around. I have tried over the last few years with some women I have liked but have had no luck.
I apologise if my post is a bit all over the place but any advice would be very much appreciated.

OP: My advice is , get yourself sorted out first BEFORE you go looking for a girlfriend. Having a girlfriend is NOT magically going to solve your problems.
If you are healthy enough, why not start offering your services for garden maintenance etc locally as a way to earn some money, you have a computer, you can make your own flyers etc and get out there. There is always SOMETHING you can try your hand at.
    Best of luck.

I know what you mean but my therapist has said I shouldn't keep putting things off until I am 'healthy' cos my life will be wasted away and I think shes right. She said if I want a girlfriend then try and get a girlfriend.
