I just failed this application test, and I have no idea what I did right or wrong. Does anyone have any advice as to which answers/attitudes they're looking for here? The whole test feels unnecessarily obtuse for what it is.

You have to answer like you are the biggest brown noser going, company comes first, tell your manager everything. What they want to here. It's a balls of an application. It'll take you hours. You have a whole section of "Give an example of when you..." Coming up aswell.

You need great grit, determination and stamina to get through it, ah no haha. I'd imagine the length it takes puts many off though.

You'll need a different IP address to reapply, maybe different email aswell.

I recently helped my wife do one of these online tests for a job.

The questions were vague and often there was no good answer. I had to pick between two bad options.

She got the job and they were impressed with her answers. They said she seemed "confident".

This is the tactic I used:

Always answer the questions in a way so it seems she is hard working, attention to detail, likes challenges, doesn't always run to the manager - she tries to solve the issue using her training.

I noticed the test often made me choose between doing a good job and being nice to people. For example, what's more important to you, doing a good job every time or helping someone who is struggling. (I would always choose the "do a good job" type of answer).

So I kind of had to answer in a bit of a psycho way. But they liked it so...

I think they are trying to see if you're emotional. They would rather an unemotional hard worker.
