    Hello,
I'm in my early 20's and I've worn glasses for quite a few years. I find my vision is worsening all the time. I was wondering if anyone has had laser eye surgery done? If so I am very interested In what you thought of it and if there is anywhere in Ireland you would recommend?

    Hi!

I've moved your thread to the Eyecare forum as it's more appropriate.

Hi I just got lasik with Optilase in Cork with Wayne Crewe-Brown and I'm very happy with the results. I can now see according to my consultant "2 lines above 20/20" whereas before I was -6 in my left eye and -5.75 in my right eye.I'm almost 19 so I was warned about my age at the original consultation but she did say that if I was 23/24 she wouldn't even ask about my age as my eyesight would have def settled by then.Luckily for me my sight was settled and so I could get lasik. I would def recommend optilase just because they didn't try to sell it to me,they were very factual about the procedure and aftercare and Marie the consultant in Limerick was very friendly and professional. As I am 19 I got the student discount so if you are eligible for that I would try to get it

But of course you should def try out other clinics to check them out. The cost of my procedure was 2840 euros

Depends where you are located, personally I had a good experience and results with Optilase (Dublin) who have a few locations around the country. It's a fairly straight forward procedure, you can get a free consultation with Optilase and that will tell you if you are suitable or not.

If you decide to go ahead with it feel free to message me for a referral code which will knock €100 off the price.
