Pregnancy discrimination?

I've been in my job just less than a year and my boss has always been a bully. It is a pub/restaurant. Staff turnover is huge, and I would say it's because of him the way he treats the staff, especially the girls. But I feel he is singling me out. Constantly giving out over silly stuff saying a toddler could do a better job than i could and sending me home early. I had only rang in sick twice since starting work. And I felt I was being harassed with him ringing me asking how long was I planing on being sick. Which means my wages are getting less and less. And I felt I was being harassed with him ringing me asking how long was I planing on being sick I was in very early pregnancy at the time and obviously need all the money I can get i would feel i cant ring in sick anymore and go in anyway. I was throwing up quite a lot a few days ago and still went in but once i got there i just said i couldnt work and shouldnt have bothered going in and then they asked if i would like to go home. I feel like he is trying to push me out. Sometimes I would be sent home and I would cry the whole way home because he wouldn't even let you explain a situation he would just assume that you are always in the wrong even if you are not. He didn't even give me a contract until I was working there 10 months. And I still haven't given it back to him and he's constantly asking me for it its been about a week since he's given it to me. but I had to wait 10 months for him to even bother giving it to me. I am looking for other jobs but I'm not hearing anything back. It'll be tough for me to get one as I am pregnant. And I really don't want to take early maternity leave as of course I want to spend as much time with my baby when it arrives as I can, I feel I don't have much choice but to do that. There must be another way. I don't know what else I can do I can't seem to get any other job because the fact I'm pregnant as well. Is there anything else I can do?

What exactly is your goal? You won't change who your boss is so as long as you work there you'll have to deal with him. If you feel you have been discriminated against due to your pregnancy then consult a solicitor

    Speak to a solicitor.

Discrimination on the grounds of pregnancy is one of the strongest cases you can have in employment law

I agree with LCC and Mr Incog, but will leave it open for now in case anyone else wishes to comment with in forum rules

I don't really know. I was hoping if someone could just advise me on any options I have. It seems to be going to a solicitor. I really didn't want to but I feel I don't have another option now.

Is your boss the ultimate boss or does he have a boss? If he does, go and talk to them and raise your concerns, it should help if you do take a case eventually.

He is the owner of the premises. The manager is his son. I feel like I'm on my own on this i cant even say it o the other workers as they have been there years and would just brush it off as oh that's just the boss. He's been getting away with treating the girls like trash for too long
