Jobseeker's Allowance Process Timeline

Hi, I'm in a bit of a strange predicament and would appreciate if there's anyone who could offer some insight so bear with me.

I've been unemployed for the past few months but between thinking I'd be back to work sooner and other plans that fell through I didn't apply for Jobseeker's until last month. I went in to get the forms and made an appointment to come back for the assessment and to get the public services card (PSC). My assessment meeting went fine and my eligibility was approved but there was an issue with missing documentation for the PSC. That was partially my fault and it was easy for me to get everything required together since but it has meant that I had to make another appointment in order to get it which has in turn meant more waiting time.

Now, here's my predicament, I have managed to find a job fairly unexpectedly in the meantime which will begin in the next fortnight. I'm not due to have my PSC meeting until this week and I'm wondering how long it is between PSC/Identity confirmation and me being able to actually receive Jobseeker's allowance?

I should add that the individual that handled my assessment in person said that everything is fine with the forms and once I can get the card I'm good to go. I'm not looking for some way to take advantage here and receive JSA while I work, anything but.

It's simply that with the waiting time for each appointment it has been 6/7 weeks since I began the process, and since I won't receive my first paycheck until the end of next month, I will need these weeks of JSA to pay rent etc. and I'm afraid that if I ring up now to inform them I am due to begin employment soon (before I've technically even finished the complete application process without the PSC) that they will cancel it and I will won't receive anything. Likewise I don't want to enter a situation where after PSC approval it means my claim isn't rubber stamped until for example a week after I begin work and someone comes back to me further down the line to say I fraudulently claimed a week of JSA while I was working.
