Hi I am starting roaccutane next week but haven't been told much about how much it will actually cost me per month. I don't have a medical card or private healthcare.
Any information would be great thank you

    Hi. Did you start roaccutane?
If so, how did you find it? My daughter is looking about it. But there are a lot of side effects listed.
Would like to hear from users.
About the price, did you price up the north? Or what about the generic brands?

    Hiya,

yeah nearly finished my 3rd month now. I would highly recommend this tablet as it has worked wonders so far.
BUT be aware the side effects can be nasty if you don't stay on top of them. From day 1 I moisturised twice per day using Eucerin with an spf, I have plenty of vaseline for my lips and only wash my face with miscellar water, so Im not experiencing much dryness on my skin, try and keep showering to 2 times per week because the skin on my arms and legs get very dry when near water so plenty of body moisturiser. The only real side effect I have trouble with is my eyes, from the beginning I put drops in twice a day every day, but now I need an eye balm and drops 4-5 times per day becasue my eyes are so dry and sometimes get inflamed and swollen, but once again you must keep on top of it. You also must drink at least two litres of water per day. Other than my eyes Ive had a pretty good time so far. So yes i would recommend it, don't let your daughter suffer, I am almost 24 now and wish I went on it sooner!

Also I pay about 76 per month for 50mg , mulligans seemed to be the cheapest

Don't forget that you can claim some tax relief on that using your Med 1 form.

I know this is a couple of years old but I’m starting Roaccutane this week and I haven’t received my prescription yet (coming via post from the Mater). I’m hoping it’s not much more than that €76 now but I have a feeling I won’t be so lucky 😬

What dose will you be on? I did a course last year - got up to 40mgs by month 6 and it cost me 86Euro

Not sure yet. She said we’d start off low and increase depending how I’m dealing with side effects. I’ll find out what dosage when the prescription comes (I think Tuesday or Wednesday).

Thanks so much for replying. I was worried it would be over €100 a month. What pharmacy/chain do you usually go to?

My dermatologist was in the Beacon so just ended up going to the pharmacy there, I'm sure there are cheaper though! I started off at 10mgs and it was just over 50Euro. Its an expense alright but completely worth it I think :)

Yeah it was between there or the mater private for me too. :) I’m going to go to Pure pharmacy in killester/Hilltop in Raheny as I heard they have the cheapest in Dublin but who knows haha. I feel much much much more at ease!! X
