Sounds like there was plenty of witnesses. So, hopefully, he's caught and charged with assault.

i'm not sure where this thread is going, but it's assault.

but it's not a cycling problem, it's just a problem. it's nothing to do with cyclists breaking the rules of the road, it's someone commiting a criminal act.

just in case this descends into 'we need registration plates for cyclists'. if we did in the case above, we'd need registration plates for all people too as non-cyclists commit assault.

A cyclist "crazed drug addict" has assaulted a motorist and then cycles "runs" off. How is a motorist supposed to deal with with crazy actions like this? Absolutely ridiculous.

This is a lesson for all motorists to make sure your doors are locked at all times when out and about.

    What is your point?

Could be anyone as magicbastarder says...

yesterday, there were two separate incidents of motorists committing robberies of cash in transit. does that merit mention in the the transport forum?

Using a bicycle as for a getaway may not have been the best choice. If it was a motorbike I dont think anyone would expect it to be in the motorbike forum. A cyclist and a motorist had an incident, simple facts.

This isnt the cycling forum so an individual cyclist's behaviour can be discussed in addition to an individual driver's behaviour.

...its a commuting problem, a problem between to road users.

Exactly it be anyone...but it wasnt. It was between a cyclists and motorist. The motorist clearly did nothing wrong and was subsequently attacked by a cyclist.

are you serious? it's a criminal act, and has no bearing whatsoever to the issues this forum was set up to discuss.
'a criminal used a bike today'.
linking the fact that they're a criminal to the fact they used a bike is specious.

A guy got assaulted by pedestrians after getting off the Luas over the weekend, he was commuting home.

So fair warning people, be very careful of any pedestrian you may see, they're liable to assault and rob you.

Fair warning people, avoid at all costs anyone you might see on a motorbike, they're liable to kill you. Be careful out there. You should also be very careful of men dressed as women.

Fair warning people, avoid at all costs other cars, just, I don't know, don't leave your house. Motorists are liable to kill you.

Do you see the **** stirring nature and stupidity of this thread yet?

it's rumoured that bicycles are the next weapon to be adopted by clowns in their assault on society.

I can't in all good conscience forget to warn you about this either. See those nice old people in their electric wheel chairs, either run a mile or call the gardai every time you see one, they're liable to rob from you and ransack your house. Be careful out there people, remember to stay indoors, lock the doors and close the curtains.

it's not a commuting issue, nor is it a transport issue.

    Thread closed.

OP -- layoff the starting another cycling thread for a week or two, there's enough of them open. That, and the fact a report of a random unnamed person phoning Live Line really does not make for a great thread.
