NH TS90 PTO Problem

    Hi All,

Hoping someone can maybe advise on what the root cause of the following issue might be :)

Its a 99 NH TS90 and the PTO has started to intermittently cut off when in use for no apparent reason.....It might work fine for a few minutes then just cut off, sometimes it may cut in again itself after a few seconds or I may have to turn it off at the switch and then back on again a minute later or so. This procedure might then need to be repeated for as long as I can bear and grin it OR it might work fine for a few hours with no issue.

I have replaced the PTO switch in the cab itself. Have had a mechanic check that power is getting to the connections underneath the left hand side of the cab where the power enters internally to power the PTO itself so the wiring and relay would appear to be okay. I think the solenoid should either work OR not work (open to correction here). The fact that it is very random and that it powers up again of its own accord makes it very hard to diagnose. Has anyone came across anything like this in the past?? Not sure if there is anything else that can be checked externally.....

    Thanks!

i know on then TM series if the alternater isnt working the pto will not work.
It might be worth checking the voltage coming off the alternater usuallly 13.8-14.2v and the connections for this,
Also is there a button on the mudguard that can disengage the pto, maybe water in switch or damaged wiring

Thanks for the suggestion, next time it happens I will try and get a reading on the voltage from the alternator to see if there is any drop there (PTO worked fine for 2 hours yesterday evening)......no button on the mudguard just the switch inside the cab. When a solution is found I will post it here......
