Moving house and broadband not available

    Hi all,

I'm planning on buying a house soon, we have our eye on one but it says no virgin media services available at that address, we need VM by the way as my husband works from home a lot so it's essential. I am aware that numbers 11,12,13 and 14 have VM and my house would be no.2, it's one row of 14 houses and the cables are underground as far as I know ( there is no looping from house to house so I'm sure they are underground) What are the chances VM would pull the cables for us down to number 2?? Any ideas? Tk you!:)

Why does it need to be Virgin, are there no alternatives?

No, it needs to be VM, he needs it for work.

But why does it have to be them? Lots work from home using other providers.

I suggest that you contact Virgin Media directly and ask if they will be able to connect you.

They provide the fastest Internet, we use it already and want to continue, we've never had a problem and we know of others that have had problems with other providers. We don't want to compromise really. So I'm hoping they could do something for us.

Just ring them, you won't get any satisfactory answers here. Ring them, stay on hold for a wee while and hopefully they can help you out

Ok, but don't rule out another provider. You don't mention what it is that he does but it could be that high speed broadband is overkill and a few Mbps would do.

    Best guess:

1-10 are off Node A, never upgraded. 11-14 are off Node B which has been.

    Or

House 10 objected at one point screwing 1-9. The Cable network sometimes uses back gardens/is buried in gardens.
