    Hello all.

    I'm new here.

I am about to startup a new business, and i know i can get state support while i try and get my business onto its feet and supporting me itself. But i would like to hire my girlfriend, who would need a non-eea work visa, but help me with the business, she is essentially half owner of the business.

    My question is:
Is there a possibility that my state support would be cut off if i try and hire an employee, either non-eea or otherwise, due to the fact that it could be construed that the business is capably of supporting me solely on its income

    Also secondarily:
Does anyone know a path to get a letter of recommendation that my girlfriend is a integral part of my business and a necessary component of its operation, from the IDA or Enterprise Ireland, to avoid doing a labour market means test, for the perpous of getting a work visa. I had a meeting with my LEO officer in a one on one meeting and they where most unhelpful.
