When should I change my tax credits

I've been working in a hospital for the past few years and have been claiming the uniform tax credit. I finished up in the hospital a few weeks ago and am about to start a new job where I wouldn't be entitled to this credit. When do I take the credit off? I was unemployed for a few weeks so will be submitting a P21 in January hoping that I am due some tax back. If I take the credit off now will it affect my tax for the entire year or just from when I remove it?

I'd be of the opinion the credit is good for 2016. If you've earned enough to pay tax it should be good enough. The paye credit works so that if you earn enough to pay 1650 in tax as a paye employee you get teh full credit, or else only as much as the amount of paye tax you owe.
