How long should simply probate take?

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone else is going thru a probate which is taking a long time; in my case, relative passed away last November, met solicitor in January, signed some more documents in March, and as of mid-October still no resolution. No house involved, just two bank accounts in her name. P.
