Is there a penalty if I take a break from driving?

    If I take a break from driving for say, 6 months, when I go to get insurance again, will I be peanalized?

    No, afaik there is no penalties.
    You can take a 2 year break and not lose your NCB.

    Some insurers will also allow suspend the insurance for various reasons they can tell you about if you contact them.
