Help needed in relation to Home Broadband

    Hi All

    Looking some help.
So basically live in rural Kerry. Have no landline connection to my house, and even if i had I would not be able to get connected as there is no capability for this at the exchange in my area ( sorry i think this is the right terminoloy ). Basically if I want broadband I need to get a wireless provider.

So I have been with a wireless broadband provider for last couple of years. The connections speeds are ridiculous. We don't need much capacity as we dont use it much, but we mostly can only get about 1mb download speed ( i know, in this day and age its a joke ). I can upgrade to the company 6mb package but they can only garauntee me 3mb ??!??! Makes no sense to me....

Anyway sorry for rambling, basically what I want to know is ( mainly from people in rural ireland without many options ) have anyone ever used the Vodafone mobile broadband system - see link below - and what do you think,

    http://shop.vodafone.ie/shop/onlineAnywhere/mobileBroadband/mobileBroadbandHome.jsp?subPage=devices&groupFilteringValue=1300002

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated,

    Regards
    JB

So I have been doing some speed tests in relation to my issue above.

I can actually get 4 times the speed on my mobile phone data from Vodafone ( with bog basic smart phone ) than I can on my wifi to the house.
I was lucky to reach 1mb yesterday evening. With upload speed of 0.2.. on the wifi

So i thought to myself why not just use my phone data and get rid of the wifi.
Which brings me to my next question why is the data on my phone so much more expensive than say a 15gb allowance on a wifi connection to the house??

I would really appreciate some help on this as I am not really clued in to all this.

    Thanks
    JB

Its fast because its expensive. Make it cheap, more people use it, it gets slow. This can be clearly seen where 3 will be ticking over at 5Mb while Vodafone blaze at 90Mb on the same technology.

I understand if its fast it will be expensive.
But if i had 4/5/6 mb internet in my house it would cost me somewhere in the region of €25 ish per month for an allowance of 15gb.

With my mobile phone data provider I am getting 4mb speeds but I would pay €10-€15 for 3gb allowance?
