windows 10 shutdown - auto restarting

Up to recently I used Windows button, Up arrow twice, same again then shut down for keyboard approach to shutdown. Can't access this feature anymore, so changed Power options to "Shutdown when press power button". But laptop (Acer Aspire E15) restarts automatically. Had a look at solutions online, but instead of a simple fix, lengthy and complicated instructions given. Any suggestions for a simple fix?

Just discovered I've no sound either through external or inbuilt speakers.
