    Hi All,

So my plumber comes to quote on putting a shower above the bathtub and replacing an older T90XR in another bathroom.

Ensuite is fine, T90SR as a replacement but just says "You'll need a Triton AS2000" for the "over the bath" and leaves without me knowing there was going to be different models.

I find that there are a number of these:

AS2000 which is the shower without the Thermostatic Control
AS2000XT which is the shower with the Thermostatic Control
AS2000XT in Chrome(more or less the same thing as above just chrome and slightly visually different)

    The AS2000XT says
A power shower can only be fitted to a gravity-fed system – it is not suitable for fitting to the
mains cold water supply, a combi boiler or a high pressure system.

My Plumber is connecting the water feed from the bath feed, up through the wall and connecting into the shower unit then where the bath is feed from the hotpress tank.

Seems to me the AS2000XT is the one I should go for(AS2000 would be fine as well I'm sure without the thermostatic control).

Just need to know because I can order one online delivered for €142 or purchased locally for €280.

    Thanks in advance,

    A

Get the AS2000XT. Thermostatic is always better & there's only €10 of a price difference. The chrome is around €100 more expensive. A bit of a rip off but some people like them.

Triton As2000xt bought in Ireland has 2 years parts & labour warranty in Ireland but none in the UK. As2000xt bought in UK has 12 months warranty but none in southern Ireland. This shower in NOT intended for ROI sale. So remember the cheaper shower in UK has NO warranty here at all. You'll have to weigh the pros & cons of this for yourself. As2000xt is around €250 in a plumbing trade counter

Plumber needs to take a separate, dedicated cold water supply from the attic tank & not from the pipe feeding the bath. He needs to be careful as to where he takes the hot feed from. Several options are listed in the manual. If he takes hot from the wrong place he could damage the motor.
