    Hi

Looking for some advice, have a stone built feature fireplace in sitting room. I need to put a stove guard around it and got one but really need to connect into the stone

The guard come with attachments but you need to drill holes and screw in. Looking is there anyway to get around this so I dont have to drill into the stone? Any idea's? Want something that I can take off when kids grow up and no mark left

    Thanks

Is it possible to drill the pointing and have a chain each side to hold the guard?

Is the stone dry jointed or can you see the mortar between each stone? If it's dry, you might be able to get an expanding rawl fixing in between the stones - as you tighten it, the body of it expands to grip the stone at either side .

    Something like this.

I'm just being nosey as I want to build a granite fire place, any chance you could put up a full pic of the fireplace?

Sorry I can't advise on securing the fire guard.

Drill the mortar, not the stone. That way, you'll be able to fill in where you put the fittings I posted earlier once you're finished with them

You could look at getting a babydan model and wrapping right around and into the walls either side. If nothing else they give great piece of mind as are practically impenetrable until they are old enough to go over the top.
