Night time pain

I always wake up with a very painful back, so sore that it takes me ages to get up out of bed and when i do my back can't support itself and I collapse. It gets better during the day but I'm sick of waking up in pain. I just want to sleep.

Is this old age, does everyone get this or am I truly ****ed?

Get yourself referred to a hospital or consultant for a scan.
Without that you will not know what the problem is.

Have you tried sleeping in different bed or on the floor?
    Is that the same outcome?

Tried all that, nothing helps and tonight is just a bad night.

The Raptor; That really is something to ask ye GP about. Ye Have asked ye Doc? Not just changed ye sleeping ways?

I have a problem around my lower, right hip. Thought it was a broken spring in the mattress, digging me. Friend, on line, suggested it might be Hip Bursitis.

God damn if a swift google didn't prove her damn right! And I still have it. It's basically part of getting older :(

Back, though? That's a job for a Doctor. X Ray. Not AH.

Why suffer the physical pain ~ never mind the sh1t ye'll get here?! :pac:

1st you need to identify what part of your back is causing you pain. is it lower back or upper back? Then take it from there .....

If its your lower spine then lie on your back & tuck an extra pillow under your knees, this elevation has the effect of easing the pressure on your lower back. If its further up then maybe lie on your side in the fetal position.

Ibuprofen pain killers are good for back pain, as they not only kill the pain but they also reduce swelling in the affected area (take as directed on the packet). Its possible you have a slipped disk, so get yourself off to the GP and he/she will take from there. Back pain is a real curse, so get it seen to ASAP before any more damage is done.

Rest, no lifting, no running > take it easy until you are checked over.

If you've been to the doctor and they can't find anything wrong (or they can but can't help), you could try Acupuncture or Tuina, both fantastic at helping back pain. If interested, PM me where you're based and i can recommend a practitioner.
