We are thinking of cheating on Austria with Italy this year - we are a big group and want a resort to cater for all, basically a ski in/out, with challenging intermediate slopes and a lively apres scene. It can't be Sauze D'oulx! All suggestions welcome!

Ski in ski out might be a bit challenging, but Livignio, Trentino or The Aosta valley,

Don't think they're mad on the apres either. I have skied in to Cervinia and Madesimo, not back out again though but in both instances short schlep to the slopes. Neither was apres mad, quite chilled. Livigno had a tax free budget booze drive.

Have booked Austria past few years with large group and DIY'ing Livigno with biggest group ever this February (40!). We did Ryanair-Bergamo and cheap chalet accommodation with livignoskiholidays.com is working out insanely cheap. There are ski to door options for smaller groups I believe. They have been great to deal with so far, and will organise the coach transfers and any gear for us too. Meeting with the rep tomorrow in Cork (he's coming over for ski reunions with groups in Kerry and Dublin?!) Looks good on paper anyway!
