Bought a Hereford heifer last march to suck a cow who's calf died. Was going to sell her off but just found out that she's a 5 star. She's out of a fresien cow. Just wondering what she would be like as a cow. Usually ai all our cows with ch or limo for first calfers

She"d be fine with an easy calving limo. Good cows in imo will lose a lot of condition in winter if not fed right though.

I think it depends on how much Holstein vs British Freishan there is in her.

If she's big enough she'll be ok, but if you are using ai you have the option of going easy calving aubrac or angus first time round. The easier her first calving is the quicker she'll go in calf again.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.
