Cobh motorhome park in jeopardy over legal concerns

    Have a look HERE

It seems that "Caravan-park owners claim the local authority’s model is illegal and anti-competitive" and "A number of caravan-park owners throughout the country have written to Cork County Council, threatening to take legal action, if it proceeds with plans to formalise the paid-parking facility in Cobh".

Would these guys wake up and smell the coffee. Councils and tourism bodies here have finally begun to see the benefits to the tourist income of their areas which can flow from the provision of overnight motorhome parking. The concept began in France over 30 years ago and has grown to a network of over 20,000 such facilities throughout Europe, in France alone there are over 7,500.

I would like to know whats illegal about overnight parking here and as for being anti-competitive what's stopping caravanning and camping park owners offering the same product competitively priced?.
