Posted this in a thread by mistake instead of a new one. Doh!:pac:

I'm very into my headsets. Both for music and for gaming.
Thought it might be useful to start a thread for recommendations and general stuff about them. Problems, price's, etc.

Have a pair of Sony Elite Pulses and as soon as they give up the ghost I'm gonna buy another pair.... seriously.... I've tried the others mentioned above and they can't live with the actuator induced low end you get from the Pulses..... ok they do have a design flaw in that where the ear cups attach to the headband is a thin piece of plastic and that is easily broken.....but believe me ...... incredible cans

I found them really heavy for long play periods, and the cones were going on mine as i had to turn the bass off altogether so it didnt hurt to play..

What worried me about the gold headset was the amount of people saying the hinges broke on them but mine are going strong the last year, loving them. Lost a panel off a side which is a bit of a pain but still gloriously comfy to wear. Will definitely be watching the platinum headset

Got a pair of Turtle Beach Stealth 350 a few weeks ago. I've never used headphones for gaming before so I have nothing to compare them to. Impressed with them so far. Very comfortable, do forget I have them on. Can't wait to get my VR set in as imagine they'll make a huge difference

Biggest irritation with VR is you can't use wireless headphones. It needs a cable in order to produce the 3D audio. So my 100 euro gold headset has to be replaced by the simple set bundled with the VR headset

Really? Didn't know that. The Turtle Beach ones I mentioned above are specifically designed for VR use (though you can use with console also) so I presumed they'd be wireless. Are your headphones wired to the headset or the console?
