[panel beater] Other potential career paths?

    Hey guys,

My girlfriend's brother got laid off from his job as a panel beater. He's got plenty of experience in the role, but the crowd he was with hired him and sacked him before his 3 month probation ended.

He's pretty tired of the industry at this point, with a wife and two kids he's gotta find work.

So my question is, what areas or paths are open to him, like what roles would his skills transfer well into or perhaps someone on here transitioned from a panel beater to something better.

I'm gonna suggest getting more training or a qualification to him. But some advice from others will help too.

    Regards,
    Xios

He's about 32, so not too old.

He's based in Dublin, he just got screwed by a small business. I'll have a look at Fas (or whatever they're called now) courses that he can do and then slip them into conversation when i can.

Just asked himself its MSLETB over here (Mayo Sligo Leitrim education and training board) so whatever the equivalent is over your side.. they've been taking on people for a lot of roles over this side as the guys that have been working there for years are all retiring at the same time! :) lucky for us ;)
