My brother owns his own company. If I buy a new van and register it to his company for vat reasons.

    1. can I take out anow insurance policy myself if the van is registered to my brothers business?

    2. How should the van be insured??

    Thanks

    1. No. Registered owner needs to insure it. Otherwise it's the same as insuring your mates car. You need to have an insurable interest. But you can't prove you do.

    2. It has to be insured in company name as above.

But can only be used for the businesses commercial use. So if you're a painter and they do carpentry you aren't covered for filling it with your work gear and driving

Your brother might read up on VAT fraud, while he's at it.
