Call from bank, withheld number

We just got a call from the bank at 8:30pm asking for a person living in the house stating they were from aib visa card department. The number was on private and the girl on the line seemed quite unprofessional.

She asked to confirm address and then asked about a lodgement from earlier in that day. She didn't ask for any card details, account details etc.

The real puzzling thing was she asked was she alone in the house!! Can't figure this out at all. Anyone else get a similar call recently?

They are casing the house OP, best gather all available weapons and hunker down! Seriously though, I did get a call from the bank before checking that some transactions were mine but the voicemail they left trying to contact me was fairly vague and not exactly reassuring. Maybe that's a security minded method or something?

You can have great fun with this OP. If they were casing out your home, well you can create a Home Alone situation, with hilarious results.

The non AH answer would be to ring ye banks 24/7 security #. But, why ruin a thread? ;)
