Besides the obvious robustness, the price difference is massive for treatment systems.

Any other pitfalls with going with the cheaper plastic tanks over concrete?

you should set the plastic tank in concrete anyway

Robustness is the be-all and end-all here.

Also think of the type of lid and manholes/covers you will require on the plastic tank.

Go for the concrete - in my opinion.

8 person treatment system is 4500+vat incl percolation kit for concrete
8 person Tricel plastic tank and percolation kit is is 3400+ vat!

    some difference.

How much do you plan to spend on the telly in the living room? I'm partially joking of course but if you plan to live in the house for circa 50 years the difference in price is minimal when you compare it to all the non essentials you'll put in the house.

Mind you the tanks are only part of the issue. Make sure you're getting a proper system, check up the running and maintenance costs and get advice from a knowledgeable expert. There are a large amount of cowboy systems out there that will end up costing a fortune and delivering sub standard treatment.

Funny enough the plastic one is the one with the cheaper daily running costs.

Just installed a concrete tank. More expensive but MUCH better in my opinion.
