    Hi everyone
A tractor hit my wall and drove off leaving Trale of distruction . I followed up with local shop CCTV and caught tractor , reported it to Garda who spoke to owner and hopefully will fix it . Tractor belongs to drilling company . It appears no charges will be made . Is it fair person can get away with this ? Only was caught because of my detective work

You can wait to worry until the investigation is finished.
You can also make a civil case for property damage.
    Speak to a solicitor.

They're not getting away with it?

    What more do you want?

20 grand and a neck brace :pac:

Jk, fair play for the detective work op, sometimes people panic, leg it, and say nothing hoping to not be found out, or else some just say fcuk it and leg it.

the gardai have found no reason to press charges, I'm sure the costs for the damages to your property will be paid (via their own pocket or their insurer), repairs will be made and everyone can get on with their lives.

I think OP means that why isn't the culprit penalised for leaving the scene of an accident? If OP didn't do a bit of detective work & have luck with the CCTV, the guy would have gotten away with it.

If someone turned up and smashed your wall down with a hammer and did a runner it would be a Garda matter, what's different about doing it with a tractor....?
It's criminal damage whatever way you look at it...

The tractor was an accident. Turning up and levelling it with a hammer ain't.
